Project 3: Closing Learning Gaps Through Interactive Product Training at Envestnet

Client: Envestnet (Rylem)
Role: Learning Experience Designer
Year: 2021–2022
Location: Seattle, WA
Challenge
Envestnet required engaging, scalable e-learning courses to train internal advisors and client services teams on the operation of their suite of financial products. Existing training materials were largely text-based, lacked interactivity, and failed to address identified learning gaps revealed by exam results and workflow analyses. Additionally, the company had significant gaps in its graphical and media libraries, limiting the ability to produce modern, visually consistent content.
Solution
Built interactive e-learning courses using workflows, scripts, and exam results data to directly address user performance gaps.
Designed engaging product training content for Advisor and Client Services teams, focusing on practical operation of Envestnet's product suite.
Created interactive modules that enhanced user understanding of scheduling and timekeeping processes within the platform.
Closed media library gaps by developing updated graphics and visual assets that met established brand and quality standards.
Collaborated with external script-writing teams to ensure content adhered to industry best practices before uploading completed courses to the LMS.
Results
Delivered multiple interactive e-learning courses that improved user comprehension of complex product operations.
Enabled learners to apply scheduling and timekeeping functionalities more effectively, reducing support tickets.
Established a more robust graphical and media library for future course development.
Provided a scalable, LMS-ready training solution for ongoing advisor and client services onboarding.
